About

We have a point of view. We do not have alternative facts.

Freedom Economy Report is a daily brief for investors who believe economic liberty produces better outcomes than central planning — and who want that conviction tested against evidence rather than flattered.

Where we are coming from

We think free markets allocate capital better than governments do, that property rights and the rule of law are the foundation of prosperity, that regulation carries costs which are routinely understated, and that spending financed by debt is a claim on someone’s future earnings. Those are our priors, and we state them at the front rather than pretending to a neutrality nobody has.

A publication with a declared worldview is more useful than one hiding the same worldview behind a claim of objectivity. You know what to discount, and you can weigh the argument.

What that does not mean

It does not mean we tell you what you want to hear. A point of view is a lens, not a licence.

When a policy we dislike is good for a sector, we say so. When a company aligned with our readers’ politics is a bad business, we say that too — and the market has produced plenty of them. When a claim circulating in our part of the internet is false, we say it is false, because a brief that launders bad information is worthless to the person acting on it.

Investors who let political identity pick their positions lose money doing it. That happens across the political spectrum, and being right about the politics is no protection at all.

What we actually do

Each weekday we take one development — a policy, a market move, an industry shift — and work through what it means for capital: who bears the cost, who captures the benefit, and what it does to the businesses in the path.

We work from primary sources: filings, published rules, budget documents, and data. Not from commentary about them, and not from whatever is circulating that morning.

What we are not

We are not an investment adviser, a broker-dealer, or a financial planner, and we are not licensed to tell you what to do with your money. We publish general commentary written without knowledge of your circumstances. Nothing here is a recommendation.

We are also not a campaign, a party organ, or a fundraising operation. We do not accept money from political committees, candidates, or advocacy groups, and we do not run political fundraising. This is a financial publication that happens to have a worldview, not a political operation that happens to mention markets.

Disclosure and corrections

We take commercial advertising and we label it. Where we have been paid by, or hold a position connected to, a company in an issue, that issue says so at the top. When we get something wrong we correct it in the next issue and say plainly what changed — including when the error flattered our own priors, which is when correcting it matters most.
